Samsung's Instant messaging service[Samsung ChatON vs Apple iMessage]

Samsung will be soon launching their own Instant Messaging (IM) service named as  ChatON which allow the users to communicate easily and share videos, pictures, calendar and contacts with others from their mobile phone.

ChatON will be available in two versions: a basic one for feature phones and another a more complex variation that allows smartphone users to comment on other profiles, send animated messages with background music and visualize their most frequently contacted friends etc. The company is also planning to release a web-based version that would bring similar functionality to PCs.There are also addon features like interaction rank which lists people who you  often chat with.In short it will be a group chat/ messaging with video and voice messages and contact, location and calendar sharing.

The ChatON app would come pre-installed in all upcoming Samsung bada / Galaxy smartphones. This app will be free and aims to compete with the popular BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), and Apple’s upcoming iMessage service.. The app would be launched in October 2011 in more than 120 countries around the world and would support up to 62 languages.
