Windows 8 tablets due on next year

Microsoft holds a market share of nearly 90 percent for all desktop operating systems but there presence in mobile platform is very minuscule.Also resent sales figure shows that more and more people are moving  to tables from other platforms. Microsoft is now offering a free Xbox for those who buy a PC costing $699 to slow down this shift.The basic problem with them is that they are trying to reuse an OS that is conventionally design for  platforms such as desktop PCs to a tablet environment where everything is accomplished by touch screen. A longer battery life is the prime requisite for a true mobile device and Windows powered tablets is not comparable to Apple/ Android devices in that aspect so far.The newer release ie  Windows 8 version aims to take care of all those short-comings and special emphasis is given to make it more touch friendly. In desktop everything is opened in tabs but in mobile platform browser will show pages in a tab format. Windows 8 has also been designed to run on low power ARM based Chips such as the Tegra to enhance battery life.Microsoft is planning to show a public "design demo" of the newer generation operating system tablet soon.They also needs to make sure that  rushing incomplete, or unfinished tablets to market can have dubious results.

Music Beta is similar to Amazon's Cloud Drive and Apple's MobileMe.This service from google enables users to store their music files in a clould server which allows users to access the stored content from any device.Music Beta is currently available to U.S. users only.This allow users to upload up to 20,000 songs using software for Mac or Windows. The service  offers a web-based interface and initial app support for Android devices. Google is also trying to obtain deals with the recording industry to reach its full potential.Currently it does not offer music downloads or song sales that means you can only listen to music that you had physically uploaded.Music Beta does not control duplication, ie users skip uploading their own copies to the cloud if there is an identical file already available. Multiple users could stream music from a single file, and users with large music collections could save a lot of time waiting for perhaps thousands of songs to upload.
