Amazon is planning to release a tablet which is significantly cheaper than Apple's iPad based on Android Honeycomb.This device is expected to release on September or early October this year.
This device will be a 9-inch LCD touchscreen tablet for $299. Amazon plans to profit from selling services and goods on the device, so it can afford to sell hardware at a loss. This device can quickly become one of the bestselling tablets on the market to become the iTunes of Android.
If it’s launched at the right price with enough supply, we see Amazon’s tablet easily selling 3 million to 5 million units in Q4 alone, disrupting not only Apple’s product strategy but other tablet manufacturers as well.The device will allow customers to watch videos, read electronic books and listen to digital music they purchase or rent from Amazon
