Windows 7 has been an overwhelming success with over 300 million copies sold in 2010.Now Microsoft has shifted there attention to windows 8. It's been speculated that a full-fledged beta of Windows 8 will be available by September 2011, while the actual launch of the Windows 8 will occur sometime in 2012. Windows 8 interface is said to be 3D with “fully dynamic” means that it will adapt to user habits.There will be user specific icons and shortcuts with different usage scenarios to speed up daily tasks. Windows 8 has a new fast hibernation system, where the system will hibernate between three to six seconds and save all open documents and running tasks.There is supposed to be a dual user interface for Windows 8. The interface is codenamed “Mosh.”
Microsoft adds My PC Knows Me technology , which basically means that the PC can use a connected camera to recognize a user and act depending on the user’s position in the room.The PC can automatically change its state to sleep mode if the user walks away and resume if the user walks to the PC.Facial recognition will also be used to switch PC users quickly.Windows 8 is reporting a new feature for backing up your PC called History Vault which is supposedly built on Shadow Copy , a feature in Vista. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has described the next release of Windows as the company’s “riskiest product bet”. It is also noted that Microsoft will feature deep cloud integration into the future OS to realise its vision on cloud computing.Windows 8 to have Touch-Enabled Internet Explorer 10 . This will be the biggest change for Windows since Windows 95 when the interface was completely changed.
